VITA & VIRGINIA
| Bloomsbury productions tour of Eileen Atkins "Vita and Virginia" started life in 2000 - a production of the new millennium - from the "Not The National Theatre" company. Since then it has been gathering momentum, not to say delighting its audiences wherever it has appeared. The production with Amanda Waldy as Vita Sackville-West and Jenny Tarren as Virginia Woolf has been touring the UK in 2002. | |||||

It is no mean feat for three women - two actresses and a stage manager - to tour a show of this type and then to deliver a masterful and professional production having driven through the day and then set up the stage and production and dealt with the unexpected complications which can arise from one theatre to the next. This makes the effort and dedication to their art all the more remarkable in a time when theatre has never been harder to sell. It says a lot for the production that it has played to good houses throughout, in at times, the most unlikely venues. Eileen Atkins has herself seen and enjoyed the production which she caught at the Oval House In London earlier this year. The company is current;y in talks to take the production to Stratford On Avon. |
